Counselling Training and Accreditation
William holds qualifications in Social Care from DIT, he has a Diploma in Counselling from Trinity College Dublin, a Masters of Arts from DCU and a Diploma in Supervision from the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre.
He is qualified clinical supervisor and is an accredited therapist and supervisor with the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Along with his qualifications, William has done many courses in solution-focused brief therapy, CBT, child protection and welfare, domestic violence, Lesbian and Gay individuals, Transgender individuals, bereavement, suicide bereavement and relationship issues.
As a supervisor, William offers individual and group supervision to professionals (Counsellors, Psychotherapist) at all levels of their training and career, including students, accredited with both IACP and IAHIP and to professionals working in related services such as Social Care.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
William has worked in the area of therapeutic family support with individuals and families since 2002. He has worked as a Counsellor in private practice since 2005 with individual adults and couples. He works with a wide range of difficulties including mental health, relationship issues, parenting/family difficulties, sexuality, bereavement, self-esteem/self-confidence and many more.
He has worked a great deal with men and women where sexuality has been an area of concern for them. This experience also extends into working with same-sex couples where there have been issues around communication, connection, separation and intimacy to name a few.
