    Psychotherapy Training & Accreditation

    Colette holds a BSc Hons Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College. She has a degree in Social Psychology & Sociology and has completed a course in Therapeutic Play Skills. Colette is currently pursuing an MA in Creative Psychotherapy and Play Therapy.

    Colette is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP). She is also a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). Colette works under the code of ethics of the above organisations and also the Irish Association of Play Therapy & Psychotherapy.

    Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Approach

    Colette’s approach is humanistic, integrative and person centred. Colette believes that the client is always at the centre of the process and the emphasis for her is placed on the equality in the therapeutic relationship and building that relationship.  She incorporates the theoretical approaches of Person-centred Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy into her therapeutic style, which then enables her to work in a way that best suits the needs of each individual client.  Colette aims to provide a safe, warm, confidential space to facilitate and support the client with any difficulties they may be experiencing.

    Counselling Experience & Areas of Interest

    Colette has worked for a number of years as a Psychotherapist in Pieta House and has extensive experience working with both adults and adolescents who are experiencing suicidal ideation and/or self-harming. Colette’s experience also includes working with those who have been bereaved by suicide. Colette has experience of working with individuals on a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, bereavement, low self-esteem, anger management, drug/alcohol addiction, social media addiction, school refusal, parenting skills.

    Colette’s fee is €70 per session.
