He is particularly interested in working on issues around relationships, self-esteem, sexuality, and in existential issues such as living a more meaningful life, having more meaningful relationships with others, and engaging with existential issues such as loneliness, anxiety, and meaning and purpose of life. He also works with couples and with therapy groups.

Stephen is originally a Business Studies and Human Resources graduate and has a background of over 12 years experience in personnel management. In addition to his work as a therapist in private practice, Stephen also works as a course tutor with the National University of Ireland at Maynooth and as group therapist and group supervisor at Tivoli Institute and as group therapist on the PhD in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin. He runs a number of workshops regularly for therapists and related professions around Sex and Sexuality, and Understanding Gay and Lesbian Sexuality.
