    Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

    Mary holds an BA(Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a post graduate Diploma in Addiction Studies from Dublin Business School. Mary also holds a Certificate in “Working with Trauma” with Babette Rothschild a world expert on Trauma and working with Trauma, and also holds a certificate in “Dreams in Counselling and Psychotherapy” the person centred approach to dream work with Paul Bradley. She is an accredited psychotherapist with Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

    Mary is committed to her continuing  professional development, attending seminars and training courses and keeping up to date with current developments in this field. Prior to embarking on a career in Counselling and Psychotherapy Mary worked for many years in the public sector in a large government department.

    Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

    Mary’s theoretical background includes an Integrative approach to therapy, which includes Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Body Work and Mindfulness.

    Mary provides a safe, warm and confidential environment which facilitates the growth of a trusting, non judgmental relationship between client and therapist which also facilitates the client to grow, explore whatever they bring to therapy and to process and heal.

    Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

    Mary completed her Clinical practice at St. Catherine’s Counselling Services in Dublin. She is an experienced therapist and works with issues such as Depression, Suicide, Physical, Emotional and Sexual Abuse, Post traumatic Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety and Stress, Panic and Panic Attacks, Addictions, OCD, Eating Disorders, Irrational and Distorted Thinking, Bullying, Relationship Problems. Early Childhood Trauma and Attachment (early bonds with the primary caregiver).  Unconscious Anxieties and Trauma and Issues that arise in the workplace.

    Mary has a special interest in Eating Disorders, Suicide and Depression, Early Childhood Trauma and Attachment and Relationship Problems and ideas and beliefs  internalized in relation to ones self worth. Mary also works as a therapist in the after care of addictions.

    Mary’s fee is €70 per 50 minute session
